Understanding the Questions

You need to understand English words and grammar to pass the Life in the UK test.


To understand the questions in the test is to be halfway to the answer. But that means understanding the way that the English language makes questions. English uses a lot more words to make a question than most languages.

In many languages the words 'have been used' would be one word, and the words 'to do' would also be one word. If you have trouble with the order of words in English questions, try these inversion question exercises.
