Life in the UK test
|
|
Up to April 2008 the Life in the UK Test was taken by over 500,000
people - but only 250,000 people passed it - 250,000 failed first time. Avoid failure by practising with NewUKTest.

Some fourteen other websites currently provide practice
tests for the test. Together with five published books, and many ESOL Citizenship courses around the country,
they provide support for people taking the test. However government advice warns that the quality of these sites is very poor.
Few use the right content and none use the right question formats. Many have bad English and inaccurate results.

The other new requirement from 2007 is that all
those people who want to settle in the UK free of conditions (indefinite leave to remain, or settlement without time limits)
must take the test - previously it was only for those who wanted British Nationality.
|
|
The alternative to the test for
those with poor English is an English Skills for Life Citizenship course and examination. Most of these
courses have been free up to now, are no longer free from September 2007 and may cost hundreds of pounds.
See the Home Office 'questions and answers' here.

Most people settling in the UK do not know
the material on which the test is based - indeed most people born in Brtain would not pass it. The material
is all in the 2007 edition of the Life in the United Kingdom book.

Only NewUKtest has the information and the expertise to make the big
difference between pass and fail.
